Blade cutting can be applied to almost all fabrics and materials. Blade cutting is a cold cutting application, and one of the most commonly used technologies to cut technical textiles and industrial fabrics. Blade cutting can be done with drag knife, rotary blade, motorized rotary blade or oscillating knife and does not produce and heat stress on the fabric.
Laser cutting machines use a CO₂ laser source to cut and mark fabrics and textiles. This high-precision technology enables the cutting of straight lines, and complex and intricated patterns, resulting in high-quality finished products. Laser cutting is a hot cutting technology and will sear the cut edges of the processed fabrics. Laser cutting can be done with a gantry head or with a galvanometric head using a mirror-driven laser beam.
Ultrasonic technology is commonly used to cut textiles and fabrics typically used in the sun protection industry. Ultrasonic cutting produces a sealing effect resulting in clean, seared cut edges.
