Machine Overview

Are you looking to weld PVC-coated textiles, clear PVC or other thermoplastics
Do you need a machine to make products in non-woven fabrics?
Are you looking for equipment to create pockets, overlaps or hems with or without rope, or produce keders in multiple configurations at a very high speed?
SolarEdge Automation Machines, with more than 20 years of experience in industrial welding, can offer a wide range of solutions when it comes to thermoplastics and textiles welding.

The SM-200-SA is the right solution for welding PVC-coated textiles and non-woven fabrics.
This compact and easy-to-use welding machine is a versatile, thoroughly tested and reliable manufacturing solution available with hot air or ultrasonic welding technology, depending on the type of fabrics to be processed.

Because footprint is very important to maximize space efficiency, the SM-200-SA with its compact dimensions can be placed in any production area and is the ideal solution for manufacturers who need to perform continuous welds on industrial textiles.

Hot air welding for PVC-coated fabrics

The machine performs welding operations with hot air.

Compressed air is blown through a heater that increases air temperature up to 650°C. The hot air is then driven and concentrated to the welding point through a nozzle, thus causing the thermoplastic films to melt and join together. Rollers then apply pressure to the heated films to secure the weld.

In 2017 we introduced also a high-speed version for the production of keders. A powerful heater and a series of carefully selected industrial components and tools allow for welding speeds up to 40 m/m. The custom-designed guides and welding wheels ensure high quality, tightly welded keders.

Remarkable features

  • Welding speed up to 40 m/min
  • Welding widths up to 60 mm
  • Compact footprint
  • Very limited maintenance costs
  • Easy to operate
  • Plug and play

Ultrasonic welding for non-woven fabrics

Welding operations are done with ultrasonic technology.

An ultrasonic generator converts the electrical power to high-frequency electrical energy that is then conducted to a transducer, where high frequency electrical oscillations are transformed into mechanical vibrations.
These mechanical vibrations are transferred to the fabric via a sonotrode pressed against the material being treated.
The heat generated by vibrations cause molecular and interface friction in the joining zones causing the melting of materials under processing and immediate weld formation.
Remarkable features

  • Welding widths up to 30 mm
  • Compact footprint
  • Very limited maintenance costs
  • Easy to operate
  • Plug and play
  • Environmentally-friendly technology
